Cardiology Department
The main role of our cardiology department is the medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease and electrophysiological conditions. This often involves the management of emergency and advanced life-support cases. The consultant cardiologist routinely liaises with other consultants in our hospital for the treatment of patients to provide a multi-specialized approach to their care.
The department offers comprehensive arrhythmia investigation and treatment service including, 24-hour Holter-ECG monitoring and full thoracic ultrasound investigations e.g. cardiological analysis.
Exercise testing (stress test) for cardiological conditions and athlete health certificates are routinely performed within the department.
We provide preventative management for high risk individuals e.g. with hereditary high blood cholesterol or hereditary congenital heart conditions, via diagnostic analytical testing.
We have a very good working relationship with the American Medical Center - American Heart Institute in Nicosia for patients requiring cardio-surgery e.g. pace maker implants.
For enquiries or to arrange a consultation please contact the hospital.
